Overview

PMQ for PRINCE2, formerly known as APMP for PRINCE2, is a fast track route to obtaining the Project Management Qualification (PMQ) for those already qualified as PRINCE2 Practitioners.  The end exam focuses on the remaining 47 of the 73 assessment criteria from the APM Project Management syllabus which are not covered by PRINCE2, recognising the prior learning achieved by successfully completing the PRINCE2 course. It’s designed to perfectly complement the PRINCE2 methodology and develop your knowledge and understanding in order to extend your project management capabilities.

Who should take this course?

The APM Project Management Qualification is specifically designed for current registered PRINCE2 Practitioners. In addition to this requirement, it is suitable for project managers, aspiring project managers and those who work in a project environment.

Learning Objectives

This course enables you to demonstrate knowledge of all elements of project management by gaining the PMQ qualification via a fast track route (consisting of a shorter exam). Recognised both nationally and internationally, PMQ has become a differentiator qualification for PRINCE2 Practitioners seeking to further their career in project management. It enables delegates to demonstrate an understanding of how their projects fit into their strategic and commercial environment.

The PMQ qualification increases the likelihood of project success as it fills knowledge gaps beyond PRINCE2 Practitioner, which should in turn improve your organisation’s project management function. The course is a visible investment in staff  and facilitates their development into committed and capable project professionals.

Pre-Requisites

Candidates wishing to have their prior Registered PRINCE2® Practitioner qualification recognised must be able to provide documentary proof that their PRINCE2® is current (within the last five years).

Directions:

By Train

Bristol Temple Meads train station is only a short distance away. Buses and taxis to the City Centre or Baldwin Street are frequently available, although when weather permits it is a pleasant walk of approximately 20 minutes. The most direct route on foot is to turn right at the end of the station approach, then walk about 50 metres. Just before the roundabout, cross the road using the pedestrian crossing. You will then see a second pedestrian crossing which you should also cross. Turn right. Stay on the pavement and this will take you off at the next exit from the roundabout into Victoria Street. Walk the length of Victoria Street and over Bristol Bridge, which crosses the river. Turn left into Baldwin Street. Continue past the first left turn (Queen Charlotte Street). The next left turn after Queen Charlotte Street is a pedestrianised cobbled street called Telephone Avenue. Armada House is the last building on the right.

Where to park

There are long-term Pay & Display car parks in The Grove and Canon’s Marsh and NCP car parks in Prince Street and in Queen Charlotte Street. Most of the larger hotels in the area have on-site parking or arrangements with car park operators. These are usually charged over and above nightly rates but not always. There are also Park & Ride facilities located at Long Ashton, Brislington and the Portway (Avonmouth).

A pre-course study pack with textbook is sent out by courier upon receipt of payment. This represents approximately 20hrs work in the form of exercises and reading.

For those who have already qualified as registered PRINCE2 Practitioners, upon successful completion of this course, the Association for Project Management’s PMQ qualification is gained. In each case, it is the full PMQ qualification which is awarded.

Delegates wishing to have their prior Registered PRINCE2® Practitioner qualification recognised must be able to provide documentary evidence that their PRINCE2® Certificate is current (within the last five years or three years after 1st January 2018). Any delegate having achieved the PRINCE2® Practitioner qualification through BMC will be exempt from this requirement as their records are already on file here.

This course caters for those who have already qualified as Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner. On successful completion the associated APM the APMP qualification is gained. In each case, it is the full APMP qualification which is awarded.
