What's the Format of the National General Certificate?

This can be confusing.

There are two taught units, each with an associated exam:
NGC1 - Management of Health & Safety
GC2 - Controlling Workplace Hazards

The training for each unit takes 5 days.

There is a separate exam day (often a week or two later)

Some of our courses include an additional revision day immediately prior to the exam session.

See the course outline associated with a specific course to verify dates for each unit and the exams. Ask Focus if this is not clear.

The third element required for certification is a practical, workplace-based assessment.

Do you offer a residential option for the NEBOSH General Certificate?

Most of the courses are run from hotel venues so it is easy to configure a residential option, even though the courses are not listed in this way. Call Focus to advise your requirement and we will make a proposal.

Can Focus provide In-House training for NEBOSH Certificates?

Yes. Focus can arrange delivery of closed group training at your premises for any of the NEBOSH units. This will generally become a more economic solution once you have a group of 6 or more delegates. Ask us to quote.

How do I find the start dates for the different units and the exams?

Our course schedules only show the start date for a given course. NEBOSH courses are delivered as a series of units, often with gaps between the various training and exam elements. Check the course outline for a given event to verify the dates for each module. If dates are not clear then contact Focus.

Why can’t I see Focus on the list of NEBOSH accredited centres?

Focus arranges delivery of NEBOSH training in conjunction with a selection of the most reliable accredited delivery specialists.  It is they who are accredited by NEBOSH. If you need to know who will be training a specific event just ask.
