QA’s CiSMP course is aligned with the latest national information assurance frameworks (IAMM), as well as ISO/IEC 27002 & 27001; the code of practice and standard for information security. The course follows the latest ISEB syllabus and prepares candidates for the 2 hour multiple choice ISEB examination which is sat on the afternoon of the last day of the course. This qualification provides candidates with detailed knowledge of the concepts relating to information security; (confidentiality, integrity, availability, vulnerability, threats, risks and countermeasures), along with an understanding of current legislation and regulations which impact information security management. Award holders will be able to apply the practical principles covered throughout the course ensuring normal business processes become robust and more secure Who should attend? Although perceived as an IT issue, Information Security is in fact a subject relevant to all business units. The CiSMP program is ideal for members of information security management teams, IT Managers, security and systems managers, Information asset owners and employees with legal compliance responsibilities. The course will act as a stepping stone to more advanced qualifications (either managerial or technical), and also sits nicely with existing project management and service management based programs. Prerequisites The recommended pre-requisite for attending this course and sitting the exam is a minimum of one year’s experience in an IT function.

Walking directions

 

From the train station

  • Exit the train station and turn right along Wellington Street
  • Cross the road to the Park Plaza Hotel and continue past it to Boar Lane
  • Take the first road on your left, Albion Street
  • The City Exchange building will be on your left

From the NCP car park

  • Exit the car park using the north exit (i.e. don’t go back under the railway bridge)
  • Turn left and go up the street with the car park building on your left
  • Turn left on to Boar Street
  • Turn right onto Albion Street (first street on the right)
  • The City Exchange building is along Albion Street on your left

 

Rail

Leeds central station is a short walk from City Exchange. For train times and fares, see the National Rail website.  (For walking directions from the station to the training centre, see above.)

Trains running along the East Coast Main Line, offers a service that can get you to London Kings Cross in less than two hours, and provide 26 Leeds – London journeys a day. Connections are made at York for journeys to and from Newcastle and Scotland.

 

Bus

The closest bus stop is Boar Lane T1. Head west along Boar Street and take the first road on the right, Albion Street. The City Exchange building will be on the left.

 

Driving

 

From M1 or M62 (to closest NCP car park)

  • [From M62, take J29 onto M1 towards Leeds]
  • Follow M1 to J43, taking  M621 following signs to Leeds
  • Leave the M621 at Exit 7, following signs to Central Leeds
  • Merge onto Dewsbury Road (A653)
  • Continue on to Victoria Road, then on to Neville Street
  • Turn right onto Sovereign Street
  • At the crossroads, turn left onto Swinegate
  • The NCP car park will be on your right (under the tunnel)

 

If you are taking a BCS exam you must bring photographic identification with you (passport, driving license or student card), as it is a BCS requirement to produce it for the invigilator prior to the exam. Failure to produce a valid form of photographic identification will result in a candidate not being able to sit the exam. For any questions about what form of identification is acceptable please contact us.

BCS allow additional time for candidates who have a disability or whose native language differs to that of the examination paper.
